Analyst Report: Group 1 Automotive, Inc.
?As of July, Group 1 owns and operates 42 collision centers and 206 automotive dealerships in the US and the UK, offering 35 brands of automobiles altogether. About 150 of the stores are in the US with locations mostly in metropolitan areas in 17 states in the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, and California. Texas alone contributed 38% of new-vehicle unit volume in 2023 and the UK about 19%. Texas, Oklahoma, and Massachusetts combined was 53%. Revenue in 2023 totaled $17.9 billion. The Inchcape UK deal should close in third-quarter 2024 and add nearly $3 billion of annual revenue. That deal will bring the UK store count to over 110. The company was founded in 1995 and is based in Houston.
RatingPrice TargetAnalyst Report: BRP Inc.
?BRP designs, develops, manufactures, distributes, and markets snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, and personal watercraft under the Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo, Can-Am, and Lynx brand names. It also builds engines under the Rotax brand (after shuttering the Evinrude outboard engine business in 2020) and offers clothing, parts, and accessories that cater to its core consumers. In 2018, BRP created a marine group, acquiring boat manufacturers Alumacraft, Triton (which makes Manitou pontoon boats), and Telwater (in Australia). At the end of fiscal 2024, the company sold its products through a network of more than 2,450 independent dealers and 150 distributors in about 130 countries.
RatingPrice TargetAnalyst Report: General Motors Company
?General Motors Co. emerged from the bankruptcy of General Motors Corp. (old GM) in July 2009. GM has eight brands and operates under four segments: GM North America, GM International, Cruise, and GM Financial. The United States now has four brands instead of eight under old GM. The company regained its US market share leader crown in 2022, after losing it to Toyota due to the chip shortage in 2021. 2023's share was 16.5%. GM's Cruise autonomous vehicle arm has previously done driverless geofenced AV robotaxi services in San Francisco and other cities but stopped in late 2023 after an accident. It restarted service in 2024 but not in California. GM owns over 80% of Cruise. GM Financial became the company's captive finance arm in October 2010 via the purchase of AmeriCredit.
RatingPrice TargetAnalyst Report: LKQ Corporation
